The Tourist Ombudsman continues its work for the benefit of the tourist user and consumer

The Tourist Ombudsman of the City of Buenos Aires participated in the meeting of the Institute of User and Consumer Law of the Public Bar Association of the Federal Capital. During the virtual meeting, the Ombudsman team expanded on the issues raised in the previous meeting in order to defend the rights of tourist consumers in the framework of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

After a fluid dialogue that covered different legal issues in the area, Dra. Lorraine Lavascsk, Dra. Susana Ayala, and Dr.. Mariela Saleh on behalf of the Buenos Aires Tourist Office, proposed to carry out an academic activity under the theme: "Tourists as consumers – Towards the resolution of their conflicts in times of COVID19 ".

It consists of holding a virtual meeting with leaders from the academic field, judicial, political and professional, in which the challenges aimed at resolving conflicts of tourists and air transport users as consumers in times of Covid19 will be analyzed. All members of the commission, they received the proposal very favorably, highlighting that it is a current problem.

This initiative was generated from the work that the Tourist Ombudsman carries out daily. In the first instance to solve the inconveniences that the tourist must go through in his role as a consumer as a consequence of the current health emergency and secondly, with the aim of setting the stage and projecting how tourism will unfold in the post-pandemic era.
